Information about the sights:
French Cathedral on the Gendarmenmarkt:
Dome tower, built from 1780 to 1785 as an annex to the French Friedrichstadtkirche.
The master builders were Carl von Gotthard and Georg Christian Unger.
Concert house on the Gendarmenmarkt:
It was opened in 1821 as the Royal Playhouse.
Architect: Karl-Friedrich-Schinkel
1979 to 1984 almost faithful reconstruction under the direction of architects Erhard Gieße, Klaus Just and Manfred Prasser.
1994: Renamed Konzerthaus Berlin.
